Just an update....

Well, right now I just want to update about myself....

Currently, I am under graduate training with Sime Darby Group Education which is located at Mont Kiara. My job scope basically are as an IT support and also Learning Management System administrator. This training is called Management Apprenticeship Program 2010 and my contract duration for the training is 1 year period.










In this training, I have been exposed about the work environment in the corporate world and also how to communicate well to the corporate people, in terms of writing and speaking. It is tough because it is totally different experience compared to study life where I could manage freely my personal time and study. In the work life, I need to dicipline myself...

In addtion, I still work for the DBrain Project but only as a part timer Research Assistant. My job scope is to be the webmaster for the DBrain Gene Discovery Portal. I started to learn on how to develop Content Management System and the simplest way is to use Joomla!. So I started to look any materials or tutorials on learning Joomla! so in the future, I hope that I could make it as my part time business. Insyaallah... :)

Memahami Leptospirosis

Saya baru sahaja membaca sebuah artikel mengenai kencing tikus, kerana saya berpendapat bahawa kencing tikus adalah sesuatu yang amat bahaya dan patut dititikberatkan. Fakta-fakta yang saya fahami adalah seperti berikut:

1) Leptospirosis adalah penyakit berjangkit disebabkan oleh bakteria leptospira yang kebiasaannya hidup di kawasan air tawar dan masin.

2) Pembawa bakteria leptospira adalah banyak, termasuk haiwan peliharaan seperti kucing, anjing, dan kuda. Tetapi tikus adalah menjadi penyebar utama bakteria ini kerana tabiat hidupnya yang gemar memakan dan tinggal di kawasan yang kotor.

3) Iklim negara kita yang panas dan lembab, menjadi faktor utama kepada pembiakan bakteria leptospira.

4) Pembiakan tikus yang cepat membantu penyebaran bakteria leptospira. Bakteria ini akan tersebar melalui cecair yang dikeluarkan seperti air kencing, air liur, darah dan sebagainya.

5) Bakteria daripada tikus juga boleh disebarkan melalui air dan tanah. Adalah disarankan supaya memakai sarung tangan atau memcuci menggunakan antiseptik apabila mahu melakukan aktiviti berkebun.

6) Haiwan peliharaan seperti kucing juga berisiko tinggi untuk mendapat jangkitan jika ianya meminum air yang mengandungi bakteria leptospira. Pemilik kucing diingatkan supaya sentiasa mencuci tangan atau badan apabila memegang kucing peliharaan.

Penyalahgunaan Blog Dan Laman Web Sosial di Malaysia.

Satu ketika dulu, Malaysia digemparkan dengan pengakuan seorang pengguna Facebook yang mengaku diri adalah pembakar gereja, walaupun hanya untuk bergurau. Ditambah lagi dengan kes menghina Sultan Johor, fenomena ini semakin menjadi-jadi. Yang terkini, kita sedia maklum dengan kenyataan berani mati seorang remaja muda mengutuk Allahyarham Din Beramboi yang sudah kembali ke Rahmatullah pada 2 April lalu.

Di sini saya mahu mengingatkan pada pembaca dan juga pada diri saya sendiri, apakah tujuan sebenar blog dan laman web sosial dibina pada awalnya? Blog dibina bertujuan supaya kita dapat berkongsi pendapat dan pengalaman, dan juga pada masa kini kita boleh menggunakannya sebagai platform untuk memulakan perniagaan dan komuniti. Laman web sosial pula lebih fokus kepada membentuk komuniti dan berkongsi sumber-sumber yang berfaedah. Secara ringkasnya, semua ini adalah untuk kebaikan komuniti, bukan untuk menjatuhkan sesetengah pihak.

Sebagai rakyat Malaysia, kita harus menjadi contoh di mata dunia bahawa kita mementingkan adab sopan dan kehormatan ketika berkata-kata, walaupun di dunia siber. Lukman Al-Hakim pernah menyatakan (betulkan saya jika salah), baik buruknya seseorang itu bergantung pada hati dan lidahnya. Jika baik hati dan lidahnya, maka baiklah peribadinya dan begitu jugalah sebaliknya. Konsep lidah disini juga termasuklah kata-kata, tak kira dari segi lisan dan penulisan.

Saya memang amat berharap, gejala ini dapat diambil serius oleh masyarakat kita.

Sudahkah Anda Melihat KIA FORTE?

Amacam? Not bad kan?

Sebenarnya dah lama aku perasan kereta ni mampu
menarik perhatian ramai, sebab dengan rekaannya seakan-akan
Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer, Nissan Sylphy dan Toyota Altis.
Aku mula nampak iklannya ketika di pawagam, dan yang betul-betul
menarik perhatian aku adalah rekaan dalamannya yang bukan sahaja mementingkan
keselesaan, tetapi juga menitikberatkan rekaan yang agak sporty dan cara menghidupkan enjin yang agak menarik, push button.

Walaupun push button engine bukanlah sesuatu yang baru, tapi bagi aku,
ini adalah kali pertama yang dipasang-siapkan pada kereta kos sederhana. Dengan harga serendah RM75,000 di atas jalan, aku pasti ramai yang berminat.

I'm wanna update of what am I doing currently.... :)

Right now, I'm learning about Content Management System (CMS) as a web portal or as a collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment. As many people say, Joomla template is the most recommended tool for building managing a portal. Joomla is a award-winning CMS that can be easily manipulated and has a lot of templates that can be used based on our needs.

Here is my Joomla: But it hasn't modified yet (Malas, hehehe)


Actually, I've set up two CMS's, one in LAMP and another one is in WAMP. This one is in WAMP. I've deleted any unnecessary contents in this page and tried to insert any information that related to my project lately. However, I've stop because actually I didn't really sure what to put in there. Maybe I will someday.... :P

Installing LAMP in Ubuntu.

I think this is my first technical post in my blog. So, I'll focus to post any basic knowledge (since I'm also a newbie in this stuff). Anyway, this post I'll mention about LAMP.

By definition, LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) is an open source Web development platform that uses Linux as operating system, Apache as the Web server, MySQL as the relational database management system and PHP as the object-oriented scripting language. I've installed LAMP in my Ubuntu 9.10, Karmic Koala and I hope that I could share something that beneficial to you guys.

Install LAMP

In Ubuntu, you would find that it is very easy to install LAMP server on an existing operating system.

Open up the Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)

Type this following command;

sudo apt-get install lamp-server^

The apt package manager will show what packages that needed to be

installed. Just hit key to confirm the installation.

A menu will be prompted to set root's passwords in the MySQL database. Just

enter the password you want. You will have to enter it twice to confirm the

password. After you enter it, the installation will resume until it finish.

Done! It's simple. Next, we have to test the Apache on our server.

Test Apache

Open a web browser and enter the address http://localhost/. You should get a web page that says 'It Works!'

Testing PHP

Since the Apache is already working, now we need to test the PHP installation. We'll have to create a php file in the /var/www directory called testing.php.

In the terminal, type;

gksudo gedit /var/www/testing.php

A text file will be created and prompted in your desktop. Type the following

line, save it and exit.

Restart the Apache server by simply type the command below;

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Once the Apache has already restart, go back to the web browser and enter the address http://localhost/testing.php/. A page contains full version information of your php installation will be displayed.

Configure MySQL

I've installed my LAMP as a web development environment, so I want to bind the MySQL database to the localhost IP address. By default, it should be 127.0.0.1.

To verify it, enter the following command in the terminal;

cat /etc/hosts | grep localhost

If you want to verify that the correct bind address is set up in the my.cnf file, type this command;

cat /etc/mysql/my.cnf | grep bind-address

Then you'll see the line that shows bind-address = 127.0.0.1. If it doesn't match, you have to edit it in the my.cnf file.

Install phpMyAdmin

Installing phpMyAdmin is optional, but it could help much easier to manage your MySQL database.

In the Terminal, enter the following command;

sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql phpmyadmin

The installation will prompt you a menu to select a web server for automatic

configuration. Use the space bar on your keyboard to select apache2 and then

hit ENTER key.

Another menu will appear to ask you if you want to configure a new database

called dbconfig-common. Since you are fresh in this installation, just select Yes

and hit ENTER key.

You'll be prompted next to enter the MySQL root password. Enter the MySQL

root password that you created earlier, select Ok and hit ENTER key.

Then, you'll be ask to enter MySQL application password for phpmyadmin. I've

used the same password that I used for the root MySQL password. If you

enter your own password, a password confirmation screen will come up and

confirm your password.

The phpMyAdmin installation has been completed. To test your phpMyAdmin, you may enter it by opening your web browser and enter the address http://localhost/phpmyadmin. Then, you can log in with the username root and the root password that you created earlier.

Done! You may enjoy building your websites. You may put all the files in the /var/www.
