Roght now, I just wanna update about myself in this blog.
Right now, I'm doing my Industrial Attachment in Unversity Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Tronoh Perak in parallel to DBrain research. Here, my task is to make an integration of data of gene databases into web. So, I need to learn about web development, database programming and parallel computing (Grid and cluster computing). There's a lot of things I need to catch up for this project.
In UTP, the place is so quiet and peaceful since the students is taking their vacation until the end of January. However, the sun temperature is really high, higher than IIUM. I think I need to tint my car window thicker someday. Can't stand to the heat.
I really pissed off with my previous laptop, the IBM R60. I've already repaired the screen twice, but the problem will comes around. Therefore, the keyboard was not properly installed by the technician (pronounced teknisial) and damaged the keys. So, I gave up and I bought a new laptop (Dell Studio XPS 1640 16') and hopefully this laptop could help me to finish my work.
In this laptop, the Windows 7 Home Premium already installed with the face recognition features. However, I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala because I need to use Linux Operating Sytem for my work.
I'll be stationed in UTP for 6 months period, so I have rented a house nearby for my convenience and accommodation. In the first night, it was a bit scary because the house is quite empty and look horrifying at night, but Alhamdulillah everything is ok so far.
In the weekend, I'm planning to stay in the KL because there's nothing interesting I can do in Bandar Seri Iskandar. But most importantly, I want to spend my weekend with her :P.
